Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark and the

the contemporary Danish name is derived, was Kjøbmandehavn,
"merchants' harbor". The English name for the city is derived from

city's Latin name, Hafnia.. It is a vibrant, modern city with a long
and fascinating history, having been the capital of Denmark for
close on 600 years and home to the oldest resident monarchy in the
world.
